Why Sleep is Important to Your Health

The New York Times put out a noteworthy article this week about sleep. Did you know that shortchanging yourself even an hour of sleep can have significantly adverse affects on your health? As the article states, “Sleep affects almost every tissue in our bodies,” said Dr. Michael J. Twery, a sleep specialist at the National Institutes of Health. “Failing to get enough sleep night after night can compromise your health and may even shorten your life. From infancy to old age, the effects of inadequate sleep can profoundly affect memory, learning, creativity, productivity and emotional stability, as well as your physical health.” New York Times.

Think about it, 1/3 of your life is spent sleeping well or at least trying to sleep. Just one more reason to invest in a quality mattress to get the quality sleep you need. Read full article here.
