Meet Nathaniel and Amanda Hoelk, our newest Urban Mattress owners who came back home to the East Coast and officially put an “OPEN” sign in the window of their new store this week, Urban Mattress- Vienna, VA.
After years of selling real estate in Colorado’s ski resorts, the Hoelks were introduced to Urban Mattress and were excited by the idea of owning a business that gives back to the community and is highly involved within the city it serves. Natives of the East Coast, they wanted to put down roots in a city filled with culture that was closer to their families in Virginia and Pennsylvania. The D.C. area was a natural fit. So they packed up their lives in Colorado and made the 1,650 mile trek across the country to Vienna, VA.
So what is the best part of the DMV so far? Nathaniel and Amanda love playing the part of the tourist, hopping on the Metro and heading into the city to see historic sites, museums, and of course, the cherry blossoms. When they want to stick closer to home they simply walk next door to Urban Mattress’s neighbor, Jammin Java, to enjoy the live music scene.
With their store underway, the Hoelk’s are looking forward to providing quality sleep and rest for their neighbors not only in Vienna, but in the entire D.C. area as well. Their hope is that Urban Mattress would quickly become a vital part of the D.C. community and that lives would be changed for the better because of its presence there.
