Meet Andy Magel, Urban Mattress Belcaro’s newest sleep professional. Andy joined the Urban Mattress team after 7 years in the non-profit world. Most recently, he ran a job-training program for men and women coming out of prison called Bud’s Warehouse.
Andy was looking for some change and knew owners, Steve and Ethan, through some mutual friends. Andy told us, “It was an appealing opportunity to me because I could still work for an organization that operates with integrity and serves the community, even though it is a traditional business and totally different industry. I’ve stuck around because the business allows me to meet a very tangible need for our customers and it’s a great work environment that supports many great non-profits in town.”
When Andy is not working, he tries to spend as much time as possible taking advantage of the Colorado outdoors, mainly backpacking but also biking, skiing and everything else. When he’s stuck in the city, he is still involved with some social ventures on the side and has recently begun converting a room of their house into a nursery as Andy and his wife, Megan, excitedly await their first baby due in March!
